The joyful sounds of banjos, guitars, and southern vocals will be heard throughout downtown Manteo this week at the 4th annual Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival. This 4-day event kickoffs at 11:30 am on Wednesday, September 23rd at Roanoke Island Festival Park’s soundfront stage, with bluegrass bands playing throughout the day. The unbeatable musical lineup,not to mention the gorgeous waterfront venue, have made this one of the best bluegrass festivals around!
From Wednesday, 9/23, through Saturday, 9/26, eight different bands will play an hour and a half long sets from 11:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. After the concert, there is a jam session starting at 11:00 p.m. where guests can bring their instruments and strum along with the featured bands at this late night event. The excitement continues on Friday with a fireworks show choreographed to bluegrass music at 10:30 p.m. Some of the main acts include Cherryholmes, Sam Bush, Rhonda Vincent & the Rage and Mountain Faith from America’s got Talent, along with 25 other talented bluegrass bands.
For those wanting to the full bluegrass experience, a 4-day pass can be purchased for $145.00 of adults and $55.00 for children. Single day passes are $45.00 a day for adults and $15.00 for children.
