Southern Shores Beach Accesses
Like the Town of Duck, Southern Shores does not have public beach accesses. However, if you’re a resident, renter, or one of their guests, there are neighborhood beach accesses you can use. Southern Shores to Implement “No-Left Turn Events” for Eastbound Traffic at
the Intersection of US Highway 158 And South Dogwood Trail
At the June 16, 2020 Southern Shores Town Council meeting, the Southern Shores Town Council approved implementation of “No-Left Turn Events” for eastbound traffic at the intersection of U.S. Highway 158 and South Dogwood Trail. The authorized dates are June 20th, June 21st, June 27th, June 28th, July 4th, July 5th, July 25th, July 26th, August 1st, and August 2nd from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Appropriate traffic devices placed by the Town of Southern Shores will entirely block the U.S. Highway 158 eastbound left-turn lane at the intersection during these hours. Additional weekends may be considered, and the timing of the closures may be subject to change. The action was taken with prior approval from the North Carolina Department of Transportation and the Town of Kitty Hawk.
